Dr. Steven Prstojevich

MD, DDS, FACS

Dr. Prstojevich is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Prstojevich grew up in St. Louis, where he attended William Jewell College and received bachelor’s degrees in biology and philosophy. He earned his dental degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After dental school, he pursued an optional 1-year Hospital Dental Residency (GPR) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri where his interest and commitment to medicine and surgery flourished. Subsequently, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Champagne/Urbana where he also completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After two additional years of General Surgery training, he fulfilled the requirements of a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Prstojevich has been practicing in Kansas City since July 1995 and has always been involved in an academic-affiliated private practice. Since 2008, he has served as both Medical Director of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery and Site Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Saint Luke’s Hospital. His surgical group provides facial trauma coverage for the Saint Luke’s Health System via Saint Luke’s Hospital, a regional level one trauma center.

He has a passion for sharing his expertise and knowledge through the teaching of residents and mentoring dental/medical students since 1995 as a Clinical Professor at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Schools of Dentistry and Medicine. Dr. Prstojevich has served several years as an Oral Board Examiner for both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Cosmetic Surgeons seeking Board Certification. In addition, he is a prior Board of Trustees to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Rhinehart Foundation, which provides educational support and scholarships for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Prstojevich continues to contribute to the profession through lecturing, clinical research, and publications. When not working he enjoys boating, hunting, shooting, and driving his 1971 M35A2 “Deuce and a Half”

Dr. Sterling Card

Dr. Sterling Card was raised in Oregon as the youngest of five boys. His educational and professional training has taken him to several states and mission work with his church took him to Germany, where he became fluent in German.

Education
For his undergraduate education, Dr. Card earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He then returned to Oregon to attend dental school at Oregon Health & Sciences University.

While obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at OHSU, Dr. Card served as president of the Student Research Group. He was also appointed as a trustee for the Oregon Dental Association Board of Trustees as well as a delegate in the Oregon Dental Association House of Delegates.

Dr. Card continued his education at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where he earned his medical degree, before completing his rigorous specialty training at one of the strongest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training programs in the nation: The University of Kentucky Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Graduate Program. Additionally, he spent a year in the UK General Surgery Program and served as Chief Resident during his last year of training.

Professional Interests & Organizations
Along with publishing scholarly articles, Dr. Card contributed to the textbook Current Therapy in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He maintains certification in Basic Life Support, as well as advanced training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Card also maintains his advanced surgical skills and knowledge through specialty training courses throughout the nation.

He is currently a member of The American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American Dental Association, and The Kansas Dental Association.

Personal Interests
Dr. Card is married to his college sweetheart. Together, they enjoy the great outdoors with their children. He loves spending his free time with his family.

He is on staff at Saint Luke’s, University Health at Truman Medical Center, and Children’s Mercy hospital. And was the recipient of the Mosby Surgery award as well the Saint Luke’s Oral and Maxillofacial surgery scholarship which seek to highlight the best graduating surgeon of their year. In his free time, Dr Margolis likes to spend time with his wife, cooking, and learning something new. Dr. Margolis and his wife has just celebrated the birth of their first child.
